IBA-CEE is honoured to host Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Head of the ADR Committee & Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, and Justice Jawad Hasan, Judge of the Lahore High Court, as keynote speakers at the MIMC International Mediators' Training Program at City Campus, IBA Karachi.
Dr S. Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director, IBA Karachi and Kamran Bilgrami, Director CEE, welcomed the honourable judges, expressing gratitude for their presence and insights on mediation's evolving role in the judicial system.
Both justices emphasized the critical role of mediation in resolving disputes and reducing the burden on courts by promoting out-of-court settlements.
Dr. Umar Oseni, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-AC), joined the session to commend IBA's initiative in organizing these training sessions and congratulated the team for their efforts.
Organized by ADR International Center, CEE-IBA, in collaboration with the Malaysian International Mediation Centre (MIMC), the seminar was part of an ongoing 5-day workshop on mediation.
The workshop has brought together participants from the High Court of Sindh and leading organizations and law firms, including Ignite, GIZ Pakistan, OGDCL Official, Vellani & Vellani, UNODC, Century Insurance Company Limited and Sohail & Partners .
The program also featured esteemed trainers Datuk Kuthubul Zaman Bukhari and Datuk Abdul Fareed, both former leaders of the Malaysian Bar Council, who shared valuable insights on mediation practices.
The session concluded with a note of thanks delivered by Mr. Bulent Sohail, Syed, Head of Partnerships at ADRIC.
