The Centre for Executive Education (CEE), IBA, Karachi commemorated fourth PGD Awarding Ceremony for its Postgraduate Diploma Programs in Supply Chain Management, Human Resource Management, and Healthcare Management and Project Management.
The audience for this ceremony included PGD Graduates, their families, faculty members, and other distinguished guests including Chief Guest, Dr. Abdul Bari (Founder and CEO of Indus Hospital), Guest of Honor Mr. Haroon Qassim (Managing Director Pharm Evo & Shield), Dean School of Business of IBA, Dr. Wajid Rizvi, Director of Centre for Executive Education, Dr. Rameez Khalid and Strategic representative Dr. Izhar Hussain -Dean IBHM Dow University of Health Sciences.
The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the National Anthem. In his opening address, Dr. Rameez Khalid welcomed the esteemed guests and expressed his gratitude to the Guests, Dr. Abdul Bari, Mr. Haroon Qassim, and Dr. Izhar Hussain. He then praised the efforts of graduates of the Post Graduate Diploma Program, for being the pioneers of this program.
Dr. Rameez Khalid's address was followed by an address by the Dean School of Business Dr. Wajid Rizvi and then Dr. Izhar Hussain who brief about the history of PGD programs as these were initiated under his directorship at CEE. After Dr. Izhar Hussain's speech, our Guest of Honor Mr. Haroon Qassim addressed the audience and appreciated the efforts of IBA, saying that he feels relieved that there are institutions such as IBA, which are continuously striving to provide qualified personnel to the industry. He further said that all the fields of Post Graduate Diploma are extremely important. He also appreciated the graduates for having the courage to keep studying even where they were working.
Following his address, diplomas were conferred to students by the Dean School of Business and Director CEE, Dr. Wajid Rizvi, and Dr. Rameez Khalid for their respective programs. After which they presented Medals and Shields to the high achievers to celebrate outstanding excellence in their respective disciplines. The Valedictorian speech of the high achiever Ms. Beenish Akhtar who scored the highest CGPA among all PGDs left the audience in tears of joy.
The honorable Chief Guest Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, in his keynote emphasized the importance of honesty, faith, and dedication, saying that, "If a task is started with a foundation of concrete faith in Allah, success is Inevitable." He also congratulated the graduates saying that IBA is known to be producing leaders, for the society."
In the end, Senior Manager Ms. Sumera Muhammad and Manager Mr. Muhammad Munawar Jamal presented the portfolio of the Centre for Executive Education emphasizing on the recent initiatives taken by the Centre. The ceremony ended with the closing remarks and vote of thanks by the PGD Program Lead Ms. Kehkashan Mazhar.
