This course is a "Core course" that is part of the Graduate Certificate in Aviation. Online (20- contact hours) course in Advanced Aviation Economics is specifically created for aviation industry professionals to further develop their analytical and critical thinking skills to apply fundamental concepts of economics to the global airline industry, with a particular emphasis on the Asia-Pacific Region.
Economic theory will be applied to current and future predicted challenges in aviation within the context of Asia. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
Education: Dr. Jack Patel has attained a bachelor's degree (B.Sc. Economics from UCL, London), a post-graduate diploma in Education (PGCE Business and Economics Education from UCL Institute of Education, London), a master's degree (M.Sc. Economics and Finance from University of Bristol) and an Ed.D (Doctor in Education from UCL Institute of Education, London).
Awards and Experience: In July 2015, Jack joined ERAU Asia as a full-time member of faculty. At ERAU Asia, he teaches numerous courses in the areas of finance and economics such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Airport Administration and Finance.
Previously to Worldwide, Jack has assumed leadership roles in educational departments for 12 years. He has recent experience in research and presents at international conferences and was a notable leader, chair, moderator and presenter at EduCon 2015. Jack Patel also supports students at GCSE, A-Level, IB, undergraduate and graduate level subjects in the fields of Business, Finance, Economics, Education and English and also provides post-graduate and doctoral level supervision and private consultations.
At ERAU Asia, Jack aims to finely hone his teaching skills, contribute towards curriculum development, assist with the management of the ERAU Asia football team and also contribute to developing wider social aspects and collaboration on campus between staff and students to facilitate the aims and objectives of the Head of ERAU Asia.
Interests: His research interests are in economic development, globalization, curriculum design and educational innovation.
The entire course will be covered in two week-ends (i.e., 2 x Saturdays and Sundays) from August 19, August 20, August 26, and August 27, 2023 from 10AM to 4:00PM Pakistan Time with one hour lunch break in between.
The course is conducted from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Singapore campus online, interactive (synchronous mode).
All registered participants shall be given access to video recordings of all the sessions.
All registered participants will have access to the world’s largest Aviation & Aerospace library (online), the Hunt’s Library located in Daytona Beach, Florida, USA.
Upon completion of this course, students should understand the nature of air transportation demand and airline supply, the economic foundation for airline pricing and the complex methodology for managing passenger and freight fares, airline costs and methods of control, and fleet management.
The students will have the option to complete the entire Graduate Certificate in Aviation.
The students will be able to effectively contribute in managing finances, containing costs and enhancing profits for their organization.
Fee per participant: PKR 125,000 + tax.

Postponement
Due to any unavoidable circumstances, the workshop may be postponed by the institute. In case of postponement, the institute will refund full fee of the program or the participant may opt to defer his/her registration to the next program.
Substitute
Substitutes will be taken at least 2 days prior to the workshop. Should we be unable to accept your application for any reason, your payment (cheque/draft) will be returned to you.
Deferrals
All registrations deferrals must be requested in writing at least 2 days prior to the workshop. Send a note to the Program Registration Team indicating that you wish to have your registration deferred to another session of the same program within one year. The deposited fee will be carried forward. Please note that only one transfer is permitted. After one year, the deposited fee will be fully forfeited.
