The participants of the 3rd and 4th batch of the Diploma in Family Managed Business, Center for Executive Education (CEE), IBA received their Diplomas in a ceremony held on 13th July, 2019. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
The recitation was followed by a presentation by Ms. Sobia Ashraf, Senior Marketing Manager, Pakistan Mercantile Exchange. She briefed the audience on the working of the PMEX. Ms. Ashraf was joined by Mr. Shabbir Kazmi, Assistant Manager Communication, PMEX .
Dr Kaiser Waheed, CEO and Owner Medisure, Chief Guest of the Ceremony addressed the participants. He motivated the participants to scale their family business to the next level and shared invaluable advice.
Dr. Kaiser Waheed and Dr Izhar Hussain, Director Center for Executive Education, presented the successful participants with their Diplomas. The participants belonged to diverse sectors including pharmaceuticals, fabrication, trading, real estate, logistics, FMCG, textile, event management, etc.
Mementos were presented to Dr. Kaiser Waheed. Ms. Sobia Ashraf and Mr. Shabbir Kazmi by Dr. Izhar Hussain and Ms. Aysha Anas Iftikhar.
At the end of the ceremony Ms. Aysha Anas Iftikhar, Academic Director, Family Managed Business Program presented the vote of thanks. She congratulated the participants on successfully completing the requirements of the Diploma. Ms. Iftikhar encouraged the audience to employ 3Gs in their family business namely Good Governance, Get Listed and Go Global.
The curriculum of the 4 month weekend Diploma in Family Managed Business include the modules of Family Business Governance, People Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Operations Management and a Business Plan.
The modules were taught by experienced family business members, industry practitioners and academics. Throughout the semester a number of distinguished guest speakers namely Mr. Asif Ismail, COO Premier Cables, Mr. Harris Sheikh, Director Marketing Naurus, Ms. Nadia Chotani, Owner Argentum, Mr. Fawwad Saleem, Director RG Blue Communications and Mr. Faraz Bandukda, CEO Al Hilal Shariah Advisors were invited to share their experiences with participants of the Family Managed Business program. In addition Participants of Batch 3 also attended the 2nd Family Business Conference as part of the Diploma. Batch 4 visited International Steel Limited and Batch 3 visited Indus Pencil Factory as part of the Industrial Tour.
During the program the participants undertook a business diagnostic of their family business and created a business plan with the guidance and mentorship of a senior family member and Family Managed Business faculty.
Admissions for the 5th Batch are ongoing and classes will start from 30th August 2019.
