Certificate in Project Preparation and Project Management in Public Sector - A customized program for Government of Balochistan, January 14 to 26, 2019

A twelve-day customized training program on Project Preparation and Project Management was hosted by Center for Executive Educaion, IBA, Karachi for Government of Balochistan from Janauary 14 to 26, 2019.

17 to 20 Grade Officers attended the training program. The participants were from different departments of Government of Balochistan including but not limited to Secondary Education Department, Finance Department, Services & General Administration Department, Irrigation Department, Balochistan Public Procurement Regulatory, Authority, Health Department, Urban Planning Department, IT Department, Communication and Works Department, Public Health Engineering Department and Planning & Development Department.

There were two site visits scheduled as a part of this training program of two on-going projects in Karachi. The first visit was for Green Line Bus Rapid Transit - Karachi. The visit was accompanied by the Project Director and the CFO of this project who gave the briefing on the project and its challenges. The second visit was for Karachi Bulk Water Supply K-IV Project at Kenjhar Lake, Sindh. The Project Director briefed the participants about the project before the visit and during the visit the Project Manager was present to answer all the queries raised by the visitors.

The program was focused to the different aspects of Project Management and Preparation in Public Sector. The program was customized with a comprehensive Diagnostics Study before the program. This study involves Team CEE and Faculty meet-ups and focus groups and interviews.

This program was structured to involve professionals in a multiple-session, cross-functional, interactive training format in which they get substantial awareness about the contents and relevant issues.The major focus was on the theme of comprehending strategic implications of various project decisions, and proposed strategies that professionals can implement in their job-positions.
