PGD Supply Chain Guest Speaker Session on "Supply Chain Finance (SCF) Recent Advancements"

On July 27, 2020, Dr. Luca Mattia Gelsomino, Academic Director Supply Chain Finance Community (SCFC) led a webinar on zoom from the Netherlands. The title of his talk was "Supply Chain Finance (SCF): Recent Advancements" as he spoke to PGD-SCM participants in the course of "Supply Chain Modelling & Simulation" on the invitation of the instructor, Dr. Rameez Khalid. Speaker initiated with SCF basics around the "Reverse Factoring" model and the drivers of SCF: Financial SC, Risk Management & Social Performance. He then discussed the future SCF trends and developments with examples from Puma, Nike, and Levis. Participants especially appreciated his point on the areas that are considered as high-road under SCF. Towards the end, he invited all participants and faculty to join online the upcoming events of SCFC in November 2020 in the Netherlands. These events happen in the USA, Europe, and Singapore according to the calendar. The session concluded with Q&A with PGD-SCM participants who asked numerous questions showing their appreciation for the speaker and the topic at hand. The speaker and the host closed the session with their gratitude.
