Orientation Ceremony of the first batch for newly launched four-month weekend Diploma Programs
On September 16, 2017, the Center for Executive Education (CEE), IBA, Karachi warmly welcomed its Freshmen through an orientation ceremony of newly launched Diploma Programs in the following domains:
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance & Law
- Diploma in Capital Markets (In collaboration with Institute of Financial Markets of Pakistan (IFMP))
- Diploma in Factory & Warehouse Management (In collaboration with AmanTech)
The objective of launching these diploma programs is to develop highly skilled practitioners with an in-depth understanding of strategic, tactical and operational issues due to disruptive dynamism, familiarize the participants with the best practices in the industry (both local and international). These programs will cultivate visionary anticipation skills required for successful management, impart study techniques that will help prepare participants for the International certificate examinations when applied. The programs will also help participants acquire tools of leadership, problem-solving & decision making and establish the cost of leadership.
Mr. Haroon Askari, Managing Director at Pakistan Stock Exchange and the Mr. Muhammad Ali Khan, Chief Executive Officer at the Institute of Financial Markets Pakistan and Col. Rizwan Ahmed (Retd.), Senior Manager Projects at Aman were the chief guests in the ceremony. The program was also attended by the faculty members teaching in the diploma programs.
The orientation ceremony started with Tilwat followed by a brief documentary on all aspects of IBA shown to the students. After welcoming the students, the General Manager-Administration, Wing Commander (Retd.) Aamer Shabbir briefed the new batch about the Code of Conduct, IBA Community, Academic Calendar, Attendance & Grading rules, and Affiliations. Later on, Mr. Kamran Ahmed Bilgrami, Manager CEE-IBA took charge of the stage and delivered comprehensive overviews of the newly launched Diploma Programs, other CEE programs.
Dr. Izhar Hussain, Director of Center for Executive Education, then congratulated the students in his welcome address and briefly talked about various aspects of the institute, mentioning that they are now officially part of the country's leading institute. He expressed his pleasure at the overwhelming response from the student body and stressed majorly on the increased participation of females. While addressing to the freshmen, he mentioned: "We continue to update our program portfolio and design new programs based on inputs from industry and academia, thus ensuring that each program we deliver should be relevant, applicable, and based on evidence-based management concepts. We have collaborated with academic institutes and professional bodies of high repute. Our programs are designed for public and corporate sectors as well as for family businesses". Dr. Izhar Hussain wished all the participants luck in their endeavors.
