Program Overview
Formula One® teams are known for getting incredible results in the form of unbelievably fast cars and winning championships by a margin of a hundredth of a second. The ability to work as a highly cohesive and reactive team is the main reason for such formidable accomplishments. Top Formula One® teams have over 1000 members, only 10% of whom attend the race. Still, the whole group works as one unit focused on giving the best performance. Formula One® believes in, and pays a lot of attention to, team culture. This means all team members are accountable and responsible for their role in the team. There is no silo mentality and all team members contribute and participate in achieving the set objectives. All this is performed within a constantly changing environment where competition and technology are in a state of rapid flux. Formula One® teamwork strategies can be applied to other businesses and institutions. Like Formula One®, organizations can substantially and incrementally improve their performance through effective teamwork. So how can we bring over Formula One® teamwork to our organizations? This workshop highlights the strategies and tactics to answer this 'how'. Generally, high performance team dynamics are ignored within most organizations. As a result, leaders are ill prepared to grasp the mechanics of effective teamwork. This lack of team development understanding leads to low productivity, poor morale, weak communication, higher conflict and increased employee turnover. Through effective utilizing of Formula One® teamwork methodologies and real time team building strategies, this workshop will help participants understand and implement the variables involved in the development and functioning of super performing teams. Primarily, workshop will cover practices and techniques that will show the way to assemble cohesive, proactive and forward thinking teams needed for achieving organizational goals and vision. Notably, the workshop will focus on the key areas of super team composition, optimal culture for effective teamwork, DNA of high performing teams, emotionally intelligent teams, use of power in teams and conflict management within teams.
Real time super teamwork strategy building using LEGO Serious Play Methodology:
LEGO Serious Play draws on extensive research from the fields of strategic thinking, organizational development, industrial psychology and experiential learning. LEGO based 3D visual thinking is based on the concept of hand knowledge or thinking through fingers. Fundamentally, LEGO based 3D visual thinking is based on developing a physical model of a solution through the projection of useful insights and powerful thoughts. It uncovers answers to poised problems in a concrete form that are easy to see and understand. LEGO Serious Play ignites participants' imagination where deep emotional involvement and total engagement is the outcome. Hence, 3D visual thinking is a highly applied technique where participants unleash and direct their mental energies to build fitting responses to organizational/individual issues and challenges. Renowned multinational companies (to include Apple, Google, GE, Vodafone and IBM) are using LEGO based 3D visual thinking effectively for addressing their management and organizational problems.
