Workshop delivery approach
A highly interactive and practical content delivery format will be used. Blended approach with emphasis on ‘experiential’ learning will be utilized to create a solid base for knowledge sharing. Effective attention generation and total engagement tools will facilitate real time learning. No prior workshop preparation will be required. All the materials will be provided during the workshop. However, some evening work may be a part of the workshop!

MS. TARA UZRA DAWOOD
Miss Tara Uzra Dawood is CEO of LADIESFUND which has trained 12,000 women entrepreneurs and Educate a Girl which vocationally trains girls in communications skills and stem. Her biggest desire is to scale this across Pakistan and was most recently in Badin and Sanghir.
She is also CEO and Founder of 786 Investments Ltd., one of Pakistan’s pioneer asset management companies. It is publicly listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. She also currently sits on the boards of Pakistan Refinery Limited, and Dawood Family Takaful Limited, and previously served on the boards of Pakistan State Oil - where she chaired the Audit, HR and IT/Innovation committees, Mutual Funds Association of Pakistan and Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO). She is further serving on the Energy Sub-Committee of Advisory Committee of the Planning Commission under Chairmanship of Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives (PD&SL). She is certified in Corporate Governance by Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG) and Harvard Business School.
She holds a Doctorate in Judicial Science from Harvard Law School - where she specialized in shariah law and finance, as well as mergers and acquisitions – and Bachelor of Arts Honors from Cornell University and Oxford University. She is a member of the bars of New York and Supreme Court of the United States of America.
She worked for law firms in New York, Toronto, Amsterdam, Brussels and California before launching 786 Investments Ltd. She has served on the Faculty at Danube University Krems (Austria) as recommended by The International Investment Funds Association and EBAMA.
She speaks globally at numerous international mutual fund and banking conferences as an authority on shariah-compliant finance as well as finance for women, and most recently represented Pakistan at ALFI Rentree 2020, the annual Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry, where she has previously been a speaker on Islamic finance in both 2013 and 2014. She also was invited to France to assist the Association Française de la Gestion Financière on the launching of their shariah mutual funds industry. She is well known for her philanthropic work for women and children, in partnership with Facebook’s internet.org foundation and with the support of the World Bank, as well as distribution of emergency supplies during the SWAT earthquake and most recently, food rations during COVID-19/Sindh floods. Her current passion project is spearheading the distribution of 10,000 wheelchairs across Pakistan to hospitals and individuals in need.
Tariq Khan
Tariq Khan is a New York based published author, global sought-after keynote speaker and a recognized business leader who brings the combination of corporate and professional leadership experience along with academic learning. His expertise includes thought leadership, innovative marketing strategy, cultural transformation and the diversity, equity, and inclusion arena. He has had a distinguished twenty-year corporate career and has held senior leadership roles for major global Fortune companies, including ING, Nationwide, and MetLife. In his last corporate job, Tariq was Senior Vice President and Head of Market Development for ING.
In 2010, Tariq founded his company, Global Diversity Marketing (GDM) in New York. GDM is a leading management consulting firm that has helped global Fortune companies and coached C-Suites leaders to adapt and thrive in the changing environment.
Tariq has equally impressive contributions in the nonprofit world. He has served on the board of directors/advisors for the APIA Scholars; the Asian Pacific Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS); and Ascend, which is the largest Asian American professional network. He has also served as the chairman of the board of trustees at Stratford University in Falls Church, Virginia.
Tariq especially enjoys his role as adjunct professor of marketing and leadership at New York University's SPS graduate school. Tariq has been a faculty member at NYU since 2005.
Tariq earned a bachelor's degree in international marketing and advertising from Baruch College, New York; an MBA in marketing and management from St. John's University, New York; and an Executive Management Certification from Babson College, Massachusetts.
Tariq recently wrote a book, Leadership in Changing Times. The book is used at several campuses around the world. Tariq has spoken at major events around the world and shared stage with global CEOs, critical thinkers, and U.S. Presidents.

Postponement
Due to any unavoidable circumstances, the workshop may be postponed by the institute. In case of postponement, the institute will refund full fee of the program or the participant may opt to defer his/her registration to the next program.
Substitute
Substitutes will be taken at least 2 days prior to the workshop. Should we be unable to accept your application for any reason, your payment (cheque/draft) will be returned to you.
Deferrals
All registrations deferrals must be requested in writing at least 2 days prior to the workshop. Send a note to the Program Registration Team indicating that you wish to have your registration deferred to another session of the same program within one year. The deposited fee will be carried forward. Please note that only one transfer is permitted. After one year, the deposited fee will be fully forfeited.
